Connecting Columbia Union Seventh-day Adventists
Earlier this week, the Washington Adventist University (WAU) Enactus team placed second in their league in the opening round at the 2016 Enactus National Expo in St. Louis. The Enactus judges ranked the university, located in Takoma Park, Md., based on the success of projects that resolved local problems by creatively applying business strategies. As a national finalist, the WAU team is now ranked in the top 40 of 443 colleges and universities.
Every five years representatives elect union leadership, receive reports from union leaders and entities, and vote on general decisions and church business. Reports on finances, church membership, auditing and other statistics are also received and voted. The session delegates will also vote on any proposed changes to the union constitution and bylaws. A groundbreaking ceremony for the new $9.7 million Gail S. and Bruce E. Boyer Health Professions and Wellness Center took place on Friday, May 20 on the Washington Adventist University campus in Takoma Park, Md.
