Allegheny East Students Compete at Conference STEM Fair
Story by Shayla-Rene’ Little

At the beginning of each school year, teachers from Allegheny East Conference’s (AEC) schools give students STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) journals to sojourn through a 90-day process of exploration and discovery. Teachers also give parents an involvement booklet to serve as a guide during the 90 days.

At the conference’s annual Regional STEM Fair, held at George E. Peters Adventist School in Hyattsville, Md., AEC students showed what they learned during the three-month process. Participants at the regionals placed high at their local STEM fairs and shared their new knowledge through oral presentations, written reports and presentation boards.
