Connecting Columbia Union Seventh-day Adventists

New Jersey Conference

News from the New Jersey Conference

I like meetings and seminars, where brothers and sisters gather to train and be trained in the name of God. These activities serve to recharge my spiritual batteries, make new friends and see old friends. It is at these types of events that I notice the immense variety of cultures and nationalities that comprise the Seventh-day Adventist Church, the New Jersey Conference being a beautiful example.

According to Webster’s Dictionary, “hope” has several connotations based on the way you approach the usage of the word. We can “hope” that something will happen—“I hope I can win a new car in the drawing.” Or, we can state with assurance that our “hope” is based on trust and reliance that something will happen—“Jesus is coming again!”

Peter Simpson, Hispanic Ministries coordinator; Ryan Simpson, technical director; Wilson Baca, pastor of the Ebenezer Spanish church in Cleveland; Winston Simpson, pastor of the First Cleveland Spanish church; and Ruben Ramos, vice president of Multilingual Ministries for the Columbia Union Conference, speak on-air during one of the many live Stereo Adventist Radio Online programs.

"[Earlier this year], a new, bright light illuminated the entire state of Ohio and beyond,” says Peter Simpson, Hispanic Ministries coordinator for the Ohio Conference, adding, “[This light] is STAR ON—STereo Adventist Radio ONline (Stereo Adventista).” Six months later, the station has an average of 1,200 daily listeners, with up to 1,600 on weekends.
