WGTS Night of Hope Reaches Listeners with Music and Message

Story by Tom Ozio

The WGTS 91.9 “Night of Hope” returned on October 1st with over 600 in attendance at the Harvest Intercontinental Church. Christian artist Matt Maher performed, and afternoon host Johnny Stone spoke. Johnny shared his journey of finding God and becoming closer to Christ.

“It is always wonderful to be with our listeners and to show them there is hope in these trying times. Matt Maher’s performance brought hope to all of us, and I was blessed to share my journey to faith,” said Stone.

WGTS morning show host Jerry Woods said. “There is something so powerful about people coming together to hear the Gospel, some of them for the first time. Everything from Matt Maher’s music to Johnny Stone sharing his faith journey seemed to impact the audience deeply. Night of Hope is my favorite event of the year, and I can’t wait for another chance to do it.”

WGTS staff and volunteers interacted, engaged, and prayed with hundreds of listeners throughout the “Night of Hope” while offering free Bibles and Bible study guides.

WGTS’ Night of Hope is an annual event designed to engage with 40 percent of the audience who aren’t believers. The goal is to make friends with community members and to introduce them to Jesus.
