“Our goal was to provide tools and ideas to facilitate and enhance efforts to tell our
Church’s stories and share our message internally and externally,” says Celeste Ryan Blyden, vice president for Strategic Communication and Public Relations.
Rob Vandeman began his pastoral ministry career in 1971 at a church in Denver. He joined the Columbia Union in 1984 as senior pastor of Chesapeake Conference’s Spencerville church.
“These are unprecedented times, and yet we are encouraged by the resilience of SVA’s students and parents, and the dedication of the faculty, staff and the leadership of the board of trustees,” says Darren Wilkins, principal.
“If you have the right tools, and you have the right motivation, you can create many things,” says Jason Frias, freelance audio engineer, who presented on pod-casting. “Podcasts are a great way to get your church’s message to new audiences.”
Dupont Park’s Inner-City Ministries leader, Lamont Bailey, says, “Our goal [was] simple: to eliminate the choice parents have to make—deciding between what’s best for their kids and best for their budget.”
As we reflect on the last seven months of living through a pandemic, the words of Jesus, spoken over the results of His miraculous intervention for a hungry multitude, suddenly take on new relevance and urgency: “Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.”
