Hope Channel International Shares ‘Stories of Hope’
Story by Lauren Davis
Day four of the 62nd General Conference (GC) Session closed with an evening worship service hosted by Hope Channel International highlighting the story of a woman named Stacy.
Stacy’s story is a part of the series Stories of Hope, which shares powerful first-hand accounts of lives changed by the gospel.
Orphaned as a child, Stacy has lived a life filled with pain. One day, she found unexpected hope through a TV screen.
“I can say He [Jesus] has always been there,” Stacy said. “Maybe I didn’t see it, but I was never lost because He always knew exactly where I was.”
Before the video of Stacy’s story was shown, Hyun Min Kim, education system coordinator of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division, gave a short sermon to the Session audience.
Kim utilized the illustration of a paved road to remind listeners each person has a path to take with Jesus.
“We are called to be a remnant people called by Christ,” Kim said. “We do not inherit comfort, we inherit a calling.”
Evening worship takes place each night of Session at 7 p.m. inside the arena. All evening worship sessions through Thursday July 10th are hosted by Hope Channel International featuring a Stories of Hope video. Each night, the Lord’s Prayer will be recited in a different language by a delegate as a reminder that the Seventh-day Adventist Church is a world church.
Evening worships will be followed by division and union reports. Tonight's reports were given by the Israel Field, Northern Asia-Pacific Division, and South American Division.
