Hispanic congregations across the Baltimore area concluded two successful evangelistic series in October, resulting in nearly 60 decisions for Christ. The meetings were held as part of Reach Baltimore 2025, a collaborative evangelistic initiative of the Chesapeake and Allegheny East conferences, the Columbia Union Conference, and It Is Written.

The first series ran Oct. 16–18 at Greektown Square & Event Center, with support from members from Dundalk Spanish, La Esperanza Spanish, Highlandtown Spanish, El Eden Spanish, Rosedale Spanish, Aberdeen Spanish and Providence Spanish churches. The second series took place Oct. 23–25 at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), with participation from Baltimore Spanish, Reisterstown Spanish, Pikesville Spanish, Halethorpe Spanish, Glen Burnie Spanish and Ellicott City Spanish churches.

Evangelist Robert Costa presented messages centered on Jesus as the only hope for humanity, while musical trio Adoración sin Límites led worship with inspiring hymns focused on salvation and spiritual reflection.

“I stood alongside people who responded to the altar call with hearts so touched by the Lord that they couldn’t hold back their tears, making a firm decision to surrender their lives to Jesus,” says Orlando Rosales, Chesapeake Conference Hispanic Ministries director.

Rosales notes the attendance was particularly significant given the current challenges faced by members of the Hispanic community in Baltimore. He reported that average nightly attendance, including adults and children, was 160 to 220 at Greektown and 250 to 300 at UMBC.

The evangelistic meetings followed extensive preparation, including evangelistic meetings conducted by small groups from participating churches held in recent weeks. Following the large gatherings, local churches will continue hosting evangelistic meetings, with baptisms scheduled throughout November and December.

The Spanish-language meetings complement the English-language “Revelation Today: Hope for Humanity” series presented by G. Alexander Bryant, North American Division president, and John Bradshaw, It Is Written president, which concluded Nov. 1 at Goucher College in Baltimore.
