A groundbreaking ceremony for the new $9.7 million Gail S. and Bruce E. Boyer Health Professions and Wellness Center took place on Friday, May 20 on the Washington Adventist University campus in Takoma Park, Md.

Washington Adventist University (WAU) held its quinquennial Constituency Meeting  May 20, 2016 at Potomac Conference's Sligo church in Takoma Park, Md. The meeting was called to order at 9:30 a.m. by Dave Weigley, Chair of the WAU Board of Trustees and Columbia Union Conference president.  Michael Kulakov,WAU Religion professor, led the devotion and prayer.

Today 13 graduates of the REACH Columbia Union Urban Evangelism School walked across the stage to receive their diplomas. The school’s inaugural graduation happened during the 27th Columbia Union Conference Constituency Session at Potomac Conference’s Southern Asian church in Silver Spring, Md.

Today during the 27th Columbia Union Conference Constituency Session, union delegates voted to re-elect all three of its executive officers: Dave Weigley as president; Rob Vandeman as executive secretary; and Seth Bardu as treasurer. Delegates also re-elected four vice presidents and voted in a new vice president of education.

This coming weekend, members of the Columbia Union Conference will gather at Potomac Conference’s Southern Asian church in Silver Spring, Md., for the 27th Constituency Meeting. They’ll hear reports about the accomplishments of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in this territory during the past five years and elect leaders for the next quinquennium.
