Eleven student missionaries from Washington Adventist University (WAU) in Takoma Park, Md., dedicated their spring break to serving in Flint, Mich., a city dealing with a contaminated water crisis. To be able to travel to Michigan, students fundraised and received support from faculty, staff and the Potomac Conference’s Sligo church, located on the WAU campus.
Last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning WGTS 91.9 listeners stepped up to impact the lives of children around the world with a Compassion drive. By the end of morning show on Friday, listeners had sponsored a station record of more than 860 children, primarily in Haiti and South America.

Washington Adventist University will host its third Visionaries Gala September 20 in support of the university’s “Vision 2020, Growing With Excellence” plan. The gala is an annual event that supports “Vision 2020” to encourage and expand interaction between the university and community.
