After 62 years in the same Takoma Park, Md. location, WGTS is celebrating the grand opening of its new broadcast ministry center in Rockville, Md.

There’s been a whole lot of scooping going all summer long with WGTS 91.9. The station just wrapped up its fourth annual ice cream tour with a stop in Gaithersburg, Md.

For the past four years WGTS 91.9 has been teaming up with Tysons Corner Center to host free summer concerts that are open to the general public. The partnership has brought thousands of people to the mall, fostered service projects around the D.C. and increased business for the retailers as well.

More than 5,000 listeners and mall shoppers recently joined WGTS 91.9 on the “2019 Ice Cream Tour” as they took over the Plaza at Tysons Corner Center.

A large group of board members, staff, Adventist pastors, supporters and volunteers gathered in April to pray together and request God’s presence and blessing on WGTS’ new ministry center in Rockville.

"When we started this project I was hoping we would get at least a thousand cards to pass out.  At last check listeners have now given over 11,000 cards," says WGTS Program Director Brennan Wimbish.

This year’s theme of “Speak to the Storm” addressed the lives of women in this area, many of which faced two lost paychecks through the government shutdown.
