Allegheny East Conference (AEC) ended its camp meeting session this year with a one-day, in-person Sabbath on the campgrounds of Pine Forge, Pa., marking the first face-to-face camp meeting since the pandemic began.
Margaret Brown is Allegheny East Conference’s (AEC) longest serving Women’s Ministries area leader. Brown, a member of the Berea church in Baltimore, has been a local church leader in the Baltimore area since the inception of Women’s Ministries in the AEC more than 30 years ago.
Members from the New Hope church (NHC) in Tappahannock, Va., recently partnered with area churches to serve their community. Activities included sewing bibs for a local nursing home, building ramps for older individuals, distributing prayer shawls and Bibles to others and delivering food to homes.
Several churches in Allegheny East Conference’s Bay Area, including congregations in Delaware, Maryland and South Jersey, recently hosted a joint virtual evangelistic series titled, “Living with Hope Bible Conference,” resulting in 13 baptisms.
Educators have embraced the new frontier of hybrid instruction and have adapted their classrooms in a way that would never have been conceived prior to the pandemic shutdown.
The conference’s Pathfinder Ministries Department recently hosted a Teen Leadership Training (TLT) retreat at the Mt. Aetna Retreat Center in Hagerstown, Md.
At the age of 95, Meade C. Van Putten, former president of Allegheny East Conference (AEC), passed away February 27, 2022. Van Putten was a pastor in the Lake Region Conference from 1951–1962 and was ordained in 1956. He served as the secretary/treasurer of the Lake Region Conference from 1962–1971.
A retirement and the pandemic inspired seasoned authors and members of Allegheny East Conference's Emmanuel Worship Center to each add one more book to their publishing accomplishments.
Dupont Park Adventist School recently connected with both the National School Lunch Program and generous donors who helped launch a program for students coming to school without a lunch.
Allegheny East Conference's Pine Forge Academy staff recently held an Honors Convocation ceremony in which students were recognized for their academic efforts.
