Allegheny East Conference Women’s and Health Ministries Departments Host Breast Cancer Walk

The Women’s Ministries Department, in collaboration with the Health Ministries Department, hosted Allegheny East Conference’s (AEC) first breast cancer awareness walk, held outside AEC’s headquarters. The day began with stretching exercises led by Anthony Medley, Health Ministries director, and a prayer by Marleena Debrough, Women’s Ministries director.

Participants walked 3.1 kilometers through the campgrounds, Pine Forge Academy and concluded at the conference’s office patio. Attendees then had an opportunity to refuel with nutrient-packed smoothies and healthy snacks.

“Breast cancer awareness is so important,” says Debrough. “We must walk with each other, stand by each other and encourage daily self-examinations and annual mammograms.”
