Seventeen students from Columbia Union Conference’s Highland View Academy, Pine Forge Academy, Spencerville Adventist Academy (SAA) and Takoma Academy recently participated at The Hague International Model United Nations (THIMUN) Conference in the Netherlands.
Lauri Nichols, a high school teacher, offered to tutor Yarelix Rachel Velez after Velez started attending the public school where Nichols taught. Little did Nichols know that her student was actually “tutoring” and guiding her to a new home church—Mountain View Conference’s Cumberland (Md.) church.
Speakers throughout the weekend repeatedly shared on the growing need for members to personally witness, especially online. “Every Seventh-day Adventist is a communicator,” saidRajmund Dabrowski.
The second Friday night of each month, Carnegie, Pa., hosts the “Carnegie Crawl,” where Main Street businesses stay open late with live music and special events throughout the town. One local Adventist church is participating!
